Set up automated invoice reminders
This is a super quick tip, but it might save your butt and get you paid faster.
This is a great set it and forget it system.
It cuts out the emotional part of invoice reminders… when a client hasn’t paid and it’s almost due or is past due, this can create negative emotions.
An automated reminder means you won’t get all heated when a payment is late and accidentally send a mean email.
Most overdue invoices (from my experience) are from an oversight or system error, not a client trying to stiff you.
Plus, you’ll have peace of mind that the system will send the reminder… so you don’t even have to remember.
To make this easy, I found how-to links for setting up automated invoice reminders for all the major invoice systems that people responded and said they use over on Twitter.
Bonsai (reminders are on by default)
Stripe invoicing (not sure if it has automated reminders)
Goodlance (not sure if it has automated reminders)
Manual PDFs (I would set calendar reminders for yourself to nudge the client)
