Hey I’m Austin Saylor 👋

After my wife and I narrowly escaped our apartment burning down, we had the proverbial (as well as literal) fire lit under our butts. Life is too short to hope you get the life you want. I spent the next year waking up early and putting everything I had into getting good at motion design. And one year later I left my day job to go freelance.

I view freelance as one arm of my business and discovered I love teaching as well. So I launched The Lettering Animation Course in 2017, Full Harbor Membership in 2019, and Personal Project Accelerator in 2020.

In January of 2021, I set a huge goal of making $200K just from freelancing. I put aside running The Lettering Animation Course and Personal Project Accelerator in order to give myself total focus.

Spoiler alert! I made $206k that year, and set a more ambitious goal of $200k + 3 months off the next year. And I made exactly $200k and took 10 weeks off.

In 2023, I started running a program called +$25k to help other freelance motion designers sort out the business side of their freelance and build a clear path toward generating an extra $25k in freelance income.
