Will You Take The LinkedIn Challenge? [Issue 015]

I am going to try and convince you to start posting once a week on LinkedIn.

Here we go…

Why LinkedIn?

If you're on Twitter, you know the future of Twitter feels a bit up in the air. I personally don't think it's going anywhere, but if enough motion designers get spooked by Mr. Musk, there may not be a ton of us left to connect with.

And from what I can tell, the motion design industry is getting more and more active on LinkedIn and less and less active on Twitter and Instagram.

My own engagement on Linked far surpasses Twitter and I’ve only been posting on LinkedIn for a few months… vs Twitter where I’ve been active for 14 years!

Why once per week?

It's the sweet spot of doable and impactful. You shouldn't feel burnout from writing one post per week.

What to post?

- Write about a creative struggle you overcame on a recent project
- Share your latest work
- Share a personal project (even if you made it years ago)
- Write about the kind of projects you want to work on
- Write about your goals

I harp on networking all the time… and posting regularly will 100% help you in your networking efforts. By having a growing list of thoughts, insights, and encouraging posts, you will show any future connections that you are putting in the work and that you're someone they want to be connected with.

You’re already doing the work, solving problems and experimenting with new techniques. Might as well spend 10 or 15 minutes making a post to show people a glimpse into who you are.

tl;dr

Post on LinkedIn once a week and see watch network grow.
